WELCOME  TO THE DEPARTMENT OF SECTS AND DEBATOLOGICAL STUDIES

 

STS 801 THE PHARISEES: A Biblical and historical studies of the sect called phasisee in the Bible days and in the land of the Hebrews. This course teaches the idea, practice and theology of the Pharisees during JESUS day.

STS 802 THE SADDUCESS: This is a course that explains the idea, theory, theology and the activities of the sect called Sadducees in the land of the Hebrews and during JESUS ministry.

STS 803 PENTECOSTALISM: This is a course that preaches and teaches the ideas, theology, philosophy and emphasis of the Christian sect called the Pentecostal. In Nigeria this sect is call the P.F.N, a branch of Christian association of Nigeria.

STS 804 BRANHAMISM: This is teaching and evangelistic course dealing on Religious sect known and called as Branchamsim. The emphasis shall be laid on the origin, doctrines and philosophy shall be looked into.

STS 805 HISTORY OF THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE CROSS AND STAR: This is a course that unveils the theology, ideology, faith and emphasis of a Christian sect called brotherhood of the cross and star popularly known as O.O. Obu who is the founder of such sect in Nigeria.

STS 806 HISTORY AND CELESIAL CHURCH OF GOD: A course that unveils the origin, the ideology, the faith and the emphasis of a big Christian sect in Nigeria called and known as the celestial church of God.

STS 807 THE ABOSSO APOSTOLIC CHURCH: This is a course that unveils the origin, ministry, faith, emphasis and the theology of a Christian sect known as the Abosso Apostolic church in Nigeria and in other parts of Africa.

STS 808 THE CHERUBIMS AND SERAPHIMS CHURCH: This is a course that unveils the origin, ministries, ideology, theology and the emphasis of the great sect in christian faith called the cherubim and seraphim church which started in Nigeria around 1926 at Lagos Nigeria.

STS 809 THE ZEN BUDDHISM: A course that treats and unveils the origin, the faith, ideology and the emphasis of a sect from Buddhism known and called Zen Buddhism. The deities and prayer methods shall be unveiled and be examined.

STS 810 WORLD WIDE CHURCH OF GOD: A course that traces the origin, the emphasis, the faith and the theology of the wide spread idea and congregation called the world wide church of God and its impact in our society.

STS 811 JEHOVAH’S WITNESS: This is the study of a Christian sect called and known as the Jehovah’s witness or the watch tower and Bible society. Their origin, idea, faith, hope and their practices shall be discussed in this lesson.

STS 812 THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE: This course treats the origin, faith, ideology, theology and the ministries of the christian science which is a sect Christianity and stands as great organization in this dispensation.
STS 813 THE BAHAISM: Bahai is a religious sect in the world and stands as a great organization at this end time. This course shall treat the origin, practices, ideology and the theology of the Bahaism and compare it with Christianity.

STS 814 THE UNITY SCHOOL OF CHRISTIANITY: This is a course that treats the faith, doctrines, theology and the ideology of a Christian sect known and called the unity school of Christianity. The origin of this group shall also be discussed in detail.

STS 815 THE JESUS OF THE CULT: This course shall present another Jesus from a sect or a cult known and called the “Jesus of the cult” the origin, practices, ideology and theology and emphasis of this cult shall be discussed and be reviewed in order to compare such with Bible Christianity.

STS 816 THE FAMILY OF LOVE: This group is also called the children of God” The origin, the emphasis, the theology, ideology, faith and the ministries of the family of love shall be discussed and be evaluated and compared with the Bible life.

STS 819 CHRISTADELPHANISM: This course shall evaluate, discuss and look at the origin, faith, theology, ideology, ministries and missions of the group known and called as the church of the New Jerusalem. Their doctrine shall be majored in this discourse.

STS 820 DIVINE LIGHT MISSION: This is a religious sect founded by Guru Maharas and now spreading all over the world. The doctrines, theology, missions, faith, philosophy and practices of this group called Divine light mission shall be discussed in this chapter.

STS 821 THE FORUM OF J.P. ROSENBERGISM: This is an academic and a missionary course that treats the origin, faith, mission, ministry, theology and philosophy of the group known as the forum of J.P. Rosenbergism and compare all with the Bible faith.

STS 822 THE FOUNDATION OF HUMAN UNDERSTANDING: The ideology, foundation, faith, theology and emphasis of a group known and called as “The foundation of Human understanding shall be discussed and be studied this lecture.

STS 823 THE “I AM”: This course shall discuss the origin, faith, ideology, theology and the emphasis of a group called and known as “the I am” this course shall be compared with the Bible principles and the Bible faith to help the students.

STS 824 IDENTITY MOVEMENT: This course shall look into the doctrines of a group called identity movement. The origin, faith, ideology, emphasis, practice and the movements of this group called identity movement shall be looked into.

STS 825 INTERNATIONAL CHURCH OF ANGELESS WISDOM: A course that deals on the history, doctrines, faith and practices of the international church of Angeless wisdom with emphasis on their theology and confession.

STS 826 INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF KRISHINA CONSCIOUSNESS: The root, foundation and origin of a religious group known as the Hare Krishna consciousness shall be discussed and studied with great focus on their theology, ideology and confession.

STS 827 THE IDEOLOGY OF MEHER BABA: This is a course that surveys and reviews the idea, theology, beliefs and the practices of a group founded and pioneered by Meher Baba and compare the same the Christian Bible.

STS 828 THE MORMONISM: This course sees, studies and discusses the theology, ideology, philosophy and the practices of the church of Jesus Christ of later day saints and compare the same with the Bible.

STS 829 THE NEW AGE MOVEMENT: This course shall discourse the idea, faith and theology of the New age movement and compare the same with the Bible principles today.

STS 830 THE IDEAS OF THE NEW THOUGH: This course shall study the idea, thoughts and the theology together with the practice and confession of a religious group called the New thought.

STS 831 THE ONENESS PENTECOSTALISM: This course shall discuss, review and study the theological views and the practices of the Christian sect known as the oneness Pentecostalism. Their origin shall also be discussed.

STS 832 THE IDEAS OF SCIENTOLOGY: This course shall discuss study and view the origin, stand, idea and the theological view of scientology and compare the same with the Christian faith.

STS 833 THE SPIRITUALISM: This course shall dwell in the studies of a group known as the spiritualism (the universal church of the master). Their origin, theology, emphasis and practices shall be focused.

STS 834 THE THEOSOPHY: This course shall study that theology, ideology, philosophy, origin and the practice of a group known as the theosophy with greater focus on their emphasis.

STS 835 THE UNIFICATION CHURCH: A course that is bent to study the ideology, faith, theology, practices and the spiritual stand of a group known as the unification church with a greater focus to their major emphasis.

STS 836 THE UNITARIAN UNIVERSALITY ASSOCIATION: The idea, practice, theology, faith, origin and the scriptural stand of a group known as the Unitarian universalist Association with greater focus to their major emphasis as a group.

STS 837 THE URANTIA SOCIETY: A religious survey to study the faith, confession, idea, theology and the confession of a group known as urantia society with a greater focus to their major emphasis.

STS 838 THE HISTORY OF VEDANTA SOCIETY: This course shall examine the ideology, faith and philosophy of the VEDANTA SOCIETY with a greater focus to their emphasis and origin.
STS 839 THE WAY INTERNATIONAL: This course shall focus on the preachings, teachings, emphasis, origin and the theology of a group known as the way international with a greater focus on their major emphasis and practices.

STS 840 THE WITCHCRAFT FELLOWSHIP: This course shall discuss the practices and activities of the witchcrafts in Nigeria and other parts of the world with greater focus on their ideas of life, future and death.

STS 841 THE SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST: This course shall discuss the differences between those that worship on Sundays and the seventh day Adventist church with greater focus to their theology, worship and emphasis and compare the areas of agreements.

STS 842 THE SWEDENBORGIANISM: This course shall discus the origin, theology, faith and activities of a group known as Swedenborgianism with greater focus to their hope, future and eternity.

STS 843 THE ANGLO-ISRAELISM: This course shall discuss all about the Anglo Israelism, with greater focus to their origin, present faith, theology and their stand on the christian Bible.

STS 844 THE BLACK MUSLIM: This course shall discuss all about an Islamic group known as the Black Muslims with a greater focus to their idea of life, faith, hope, practices and their origin.

STS 845 THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE: The course that shall teach, view, study and research on the idea, theology, hope, faith and the origin of the Christian science with a greater emphasis on their stand with the BIBLE.

STS 446 THE CONCEPTOLOGY: A course that shall study all about he conceptology with greater focus to their confession, theology and their origin.

STS 447 THE FREEMANSONS: An academic course that deals on the faith, idea, practice and the origin of a group known as the freemason with greater emphasis to their theology.

STS 448 INNER PEACE MOVEMENT: A religious course that studies the article of faith, theology, confession and the origin of a group known as the inner peace movement with greater focus to their major emphasis.

STS 449 THE CONDOMBLE MOVEMENT: This is a course that discusses and evaluates the doctrines, confessions, ideologies, faith origin and the major and the major emphasis of a group known as condomble movement.

STS 450 THE SANATIC BIBLE: This course shall examine a book called Satanic Bible, to view its authenticity, its reality, its contents and its origin with a major focus to its stand in the religious world.

STS 451 THE AQARIAN GOSPEL: This course shall discuss and study the faith, idea, doctrines, confession and the origin of a group called the Aqarian gospel with major focus to their major emphasis.

STS 452 SATANISM AND WITCHCRAFT ASSO: A course that shall examine what is Satanism and the works of the witchcraft association in the light of the gospel, with greater emphasis on the Bible meaning of Satanism and witch crafting.

STS 453 EXORCISIM: A course that studies the meaning of Exorcism in the Bible context and evaluates the same with the Christian beliefs.

STS 454 JEWISH ESSENES: A course that is traced back to the background of the Jewish religion. The faith and theology of the Essens shall be reviewed which shall be compared with other sects of the Jews.

STS 455 HELLENISTS: Hellenist is a sect in Judaism in the land of the Hebrews. This course shall study and review the theology, hope and faith of the Hellenists and compare them with other Jewish sects.

STS 456 THE EPECUREANS: This course shall evaluate and study the ideology, resistances, acceptances and the life of the epicureans to compare the same with other ancient philosophers and religious groups of their days.

STS 457 THE YOGA: This is a full discussion of the practices and ideas of the yoga and evaluate all with the believers faith of today.

STS 458 THE VOODOO: This is a course that studies, evaluates and view the ideas, stand, beliefs and the practices of the voodoo in the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

DEPARTMENT OF PRACTICE PRIESTHOOD AND MINISTERIAL ARTS
PM 901 GOSPEL COMMISSIONING: This is the course that deals on the call and commissioning of the gospel ministers with the emphasis on the authority of the church and the power to commission and to send out in fulfillment to the call of God upon the called person.

PM 902 ORDINATION ETHICS: This is a ministerial course that treats the purpose and the qualification for ordination, the importance of ordination and the benefits from the ordination. It further treats the ecclesiastical business of the ordained gospel ministers.

PM 903 ETHICS OF CHURCH WEDDING: A matrimonial course that teaches the ethics of wedding, qualification of the would be couples, Bible principles on marriage and how to conduct a holy wedlock in the church of GOD.

PM 904 CHRISTIAN BAPTISM: A spiritual course that teaches the Christian qualification before water baptism, who is to be baptized, who shall baptize them, why are they to be baptized and the significance of the Christian baptism in the N.T. church.

PM 905 ETHICS OF HOLY COMMUNION: An ecclesiastical course which explains the need, purpose, benefits, order and the significance of the Lord’s super. Who is to administer it? Who is to partake in the Lord’s table and the significance of the Holy communion in today’s church.

PM 906 CHILD DEDICATION: A course that treats all about child dedication, why should a new baby be dedicated to God? Who is to dedicate the Baby and where shall the new baby be dedicated with Bible references?

PM 907 ETHICS OF LANDS AND PROPERTY DEDICATION: Here is a ministerial study on how to dedicate lands, material things, properties and other items to God. It reveals the ministers part in all forms of dedications in the N.T. Church of Christ.

PM 908 BURIAL OF THE DECEASED: This is a practical teaching on how to conduct church burial or how to bury a deceased member of the church. This course unveils all needed rituals ministries and teachings with emphasis on the rapture and resurrection of the righteousness at last.

PM 909 DEDICATION OF CHURCH EQUIPMENT: A course that emphasizes on the urgent need to dedicate all church owned properties, equipment and other materials. The course teaches total consecration of every equipment of the church.

PM 910 SACREDNESS OF THE ALTAR: This course teaches the sacredness of the church and the altar explaining the position of the altar in the mind of GOD. It further emphasized on how to dedicate the church of God and how to dedicate the altar of God as well.

PM 911 MARRIAGE ANIVERSITY: A course that teaches on how to remember and celebrate our successful family lives and how to re-dedicate couples who have had successful marital lives in the church of Christ.

PM 912 MARRIAGE BLESSINGS IN THE CHURCH: This course differentiates between wedding and marriage blessing, explaining that marriage blessing can take place any day and can go without any wedding veils if the would be couples decide.

PM 913 ALTAR MANAGEMENT: Here is the course that teaches on how to manage the altar, how to conduct church services, make church announcements, direct church affairs, lead people and officiate at the altars coupled with the divisions of labor at the altar.

PM 914 CHURCH MEMBERSHIP: This is an ecclesiastical course that teaches on how to adopt new members, how to bring newly baptized into church membership and the ethics of helping church members.

PM 915 CONFLICT RESOLUTION: A course that treats how to settle the local church disputes, tribal differences and all unwanted oppositions form the world and in the church of God. This is also part of crisis management.

PM 916 N.T. THANKSGIVING: Joyful programme in the church called thanksgiving has modes and methods, therefore, this course treats the mood, mode, method and ethics thereof. When and how shall we conduct the thanksgiving and why should it be conducted.

PM 917 PROPERTY MANAGEMENT IN THE CHURCH: This is an ecclesiastical course that treats how to take inventory of church properties, how to safeguard church properties and to manage God’s properties in our church. This course explains the sacredness of each property of the church.

PM 918 THE USE OF CHURCH MANUAL CONSTITUTION: A course that introduces and explains that use of church manual constitution. It explains the need, the importance and the role of church manual constitution of the church and the link between the constitution and the secular government.

PM 920 GEOGRAPHICAL CALL OF THE PASTOR: This is a course that treats all about the pastors transfer, pastors relocation and the change of pastorate. The course further explains the need of change, transfer and relocation and of a gospel minister from his old and stayed station.

PM 921 CHURCH ACTIVITIES: A course that directs the need of church varieties of programs and other activities that can build the converts.

PM 922 SUNDAY SCHOOL MANAGEMENT: Sunday school management is an academic and ministerial course that regulates coordinates, builds,, equips and puts things in order in their proper positions at their appropriate times with the best instruments in order to achieve the needed goals in Sunday school department.

PM 923 THE CHURCH PRAYER SQUAD: There must be church prayer team in the local or in the denominational level. This team is to be supervised, led and coordinated by a senior gospel minister of the church. This course has to do with how to make the prayer squad very successful.

PM 924 N.T. CHURCH MEMBERSHIP: The membership in the N.T church comprises all those who have experience the spiritual new birth and have been baptized and finally called into the membership of the invisible church. This course treats the qualifications and constitutions of the membership of the church of JESUS Christ.

PM 925 THE OFFICE AND THE PRIESTHOOD N.T. MINISTRY: This course deals on who is a priest, what is the duty of the priest in the N.T. Church and what are the functions of his office and the manifestation of his priesthood in the N.T church today?

PM 926 ETHICS OF BIBLE STUDIES: A course that deals on local church Bible study, the need to equip the members with the Bible, how to conduct Bible studies and how to help the church members be closer, prone, desireous and be regular with the Bible and steady in Bible studies with their full lives dedicated to read the Bible.

PM 927 FINANCIAL MANAGMEMENT IN THE CHURCH: This is a course that treats all about monetary incomes int eh N.T church. How to raise funds, the Biblical sources of incomes, how to spend church money, where to spend God’s money and to whom to spend God’s money in the N.T gospel church.

PM 928 CHURCH OFFICES AND PERSONALS: This course treats functions and duties of the church officers like the church secretary, treasurer, ushers and others in the church with greater attachments to the sacredness of such office and with more emphasis on spirituality and qualification of the personnels.

PM 929 ECCLESIASTICAL SUPERVISION: A course that deals on how to supervise the spiritual, physical, psychological, social and visible projects of the church together with the general affairs of the members. A duty that is purely designated to church leaders.

PM 930 BOARDS, COUNCILS AND COMMITTES: This course is called BCC. This is a course that identifies the duties of the boards, councils and committees in the church. This course lays emphasis on the spirituality, maturity and availability of the members of each the above called BCC.

PM 931 STEWARDS ACCOUNTABILITY: This course is the one that deals on both spiritual and physical accounts, both visible and invisible accounts and both earthly and eternal accounts. It is a course that treats on how to give the accounts of the people’s stewardship to the church in an open conference and also prepares the candidates for an open account to God in heaven after our lives.

PM 932 INDOOR CHURCH MINISTRY: This is a course that teaches how to conduct an indoor church ministries like revival, conference, indoor crusades, indoor prayer programmes, indoor preaching and teaching and other local church programmes of the minister with success behind such vision.

PM 933 ECCLESIASTICAL PARISH: A course that deals on denominational delegation and administrative church provinces, parishes, districts, sections and zones of the church with more emphasis on the duties instead of the promotions of the leaders.

PM 934 AUTHORITY OF THE CHURCH: This course explains what the church is in the mind of God. It explains the authority of the church in the theological perceptive and the authority of the church leaders as divinely delegated and creates greater impact on the union of CHRIST and the church.

PM 935 TIME MANAGEMENT IN THE MINISTRY: This course explains the necessity of time and the need of careful and proper management of time in the gospel ministries. It includes doing things at their appropriate times, coming at the proper time, closing at the proper time and the need of using times wisely.

PM 936 ECCLESIASITCAL PARSONAGE: This course deals on the administration and management of where the priest (N.T. pastor) is living. The house of the pastor is the first church and should be considered holy, sacred and purely divine. There should be food, water, light and other necessary things to help the gospel minister and his family. It must be supervised and always be neat.

PM 937 MINISTERIAL MATERIALS: This is a course that projects faith, faithfulness, holiness and total reliance on God’s power. This course condemns the use of oil, brooms, powder, handkerchiefs, sands, leaves, coconuts, cocoyams, bitter kola, holy water, candles, incense and other occult materials in prayer and in deliverance. This is anti occultism.

PM 938 ALTAR ANNOUNCMENTS: A course that tells how to write, proofread,  validate and make church announcements, the aims of church announcements who to write the announcements who to announce them and how to use the announcement to effect positive changes, careful management and desired administration in the church.
PM 939 THE QUALITY OF CHURCH AFFICERS: A course that treats the qualification, quality spirituality and exposure of the church officers in order to achieve the desired goals of the ministry. Examples shall be drawn from the Bible on this course. The dedication of the church officers shall be major focus.

PM 940 THE ADVANCED AND AGED PEOPLE IN THE CHURCH: This course deals on how to help, support, treat and mind the aged and advanced Christians in the church of God especially the helpless weak and poor among them. It is a course that teaches how to pay special attention to the old and aged poor members of the church who have counted their 80th birth on earth. This is also called the management of the elders.

PM 941 PRIESTHOOD CARING AND VISITATION MINISTRY: A call and course that reveals the need for pastoral caring, helping, supporting and visitation ministries, especially to the sick, weak, poor, lonely and the less privileged ones live and love like a father in order to keep his church.

PM 942 SOWING AND OFFERTORY IN THE CHURCH: Seed sowing and offertory in the local church are very different from the tithes and giving. This course calls for the ecclesiastical management of the offertory and directs that all incomes of the church should be used for sacred purposes and for gospel related matters.

PM 943 CHURCH PLANTING I: This is a course that treats on how to plant churches in the rural and primitive areas with language barrier and still come out with success and growth.

PM 944 CHURCH PLANTING II: This is the course that reveals how to plant churches in the colleges, schools or other places of learning through Bible studies and fellowships. This is the secret of winning graduates. It is also on how to use the students to start church successfully.

PM 945 CHURCH PLANTING III: A course that reveals he secrets of planting churches in the urban cities through house fellowship, Bible clubs, evangelism and through other Biblical methods without much stress and still succeed fully.

PM 946 CHURCH PLANTING IV: A course that reveals how to start a church through market evangelism, counseling, through office discussion, family prayers, through friendly meetings, deliverance or through formal visitation to your house and in your private sitting room without much labour.

PM 947 CHURCH PLANNING V: This course gives the minister Biblical key to plan for the spiritual growth of his church and have successful end and finally have his local church grows spiritually.

PM 948 CHURCH PLANNING VI: A course that gives  the pastor Biblical keys and revelations to plan on how to make his church to grow numerically without much stress and have successful end as he sees his church practically grows numerically.

PM 949 CHURCH PLANNING VII: This is a course that tells the minister how to make his church to grow geographically, culturally and extensionally without much stress and without much money and still come out with much success on that.

PM 950 CHURCH PLANNING VIII: This is the key to church planning financially. This is a course that helps the pastor to understand the Biblical method that can help his church grow financially and still stands without much stress.

PM 951 LOCAL CHURCH MANAGEMENT: This is a course that deals on local church management and how to manage the local church members to the still waters and to the green leaves, which shall persuade them to follow by using each person and each item the most suitable place.

PM 952 LOCAL CHURCH ADMINISTRATION: This is a course that helps the pastor to put things in order. To put spiritual things for spiritual, material things for material physical things for physical and to arrange the local church in its Biblical fitting according to God’s pattern.

PM 952 LOCAL CHURCH LEADERSHP: This is a course that helps the pastor to know his people to build his people, to train and to disciple the members of his church and produce great leaders among them. This is another method of local church growth.

PM 953 LOCAL OUTREACHES: This is a course that helps the local church pastor to see beyond his local church and to see the perishing souls in the world and to organize and to launch out to reach the perishing sinners with the gospel of life through any specified methods of Biblical fishery.

PM 954 LOCAL HUSBANDRY: This is a ministerial course that helps the pastor to see his church as the lords vineyard that is full of harvesting crops, flocks, sheep, goats and other animals that need caring, keeping, feeding and protecting in order to survive.

PM 955 LOCAL CHURCH SHEPHERDING: A course that helps the pastor to know how to care, lead, protect and build his church in the most spiritual way and to show each member the sense of belonging. This is a course that makes a minister father while members are children irrespective of their ages.

 

DEPARTMENT OF CHURCH STEWARDSHIP AND ACCOUNTABILITY

SA 1101 PRACTICAL DEVOTION TO GOD: This course that teaches about ministers devotion to God, prayers and total piety to almighty God. This is a devotional study and deals with the ministers spiritual life.

SA 1102 PRACTICAL FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD: This is a course that brings a believer in closer contact with the father. It is a devotional study that encourages spirituality, obedience and total humility to God.

SA 1103 PRACTICAL STEWARDSHIP IN THE CHURCH: Practical stewardship in the church is an academic course that treats and encourages stewards, total services to God to the church and to general humanity. This course shall build the faith and faithfulness of the students.

SA 1104 PRACTICAL WORSHIP TO GOD: Practical worship to God is an academic course dealing on the difference between fetish worship and total worship to the living God. This course explains all necessary issues that are demanded in practical worship.

SA 1105 THE N.T. FELLOWSHIP SYSTEM: The new testament fellowship system is a ministerial and academic courses that exposes and explains the systems, mood, mode and ethics of the new testament church fellowship with Christ centered emphasis.

SA 1106 NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH OFFERINGS: This courses is on the meaning of new testament offerings why offerings are needed, the significance of the church offerings.

SA 1113 TREASUER AND CHURCH TREASURE: A course that teaches the ethics of faithfulness accountability and the riches of church treasury. It is a course that directs the students on how to keep, preserve and safeguard God’s money, God’s property and God’s house. The main focus of this course is the church treasurer.

SA 1114 ECCLESIASTICAL SCRIBE AND ACCOUNTABILITY: This is the course that treats all about church documents, writings, the duties of the church secretary, how to keep, preserve and store church agenda of the church. The course also treats the duties of the church secretary.

SA 1115 PRACTICAL GIVING: The academic ecclesiastical, Biblical and theological course of Christian “giving”. This course encourages giving and explains the benefits of giving to God our great GIVER.

SA 1116 WOMEN EVANGELISM: This is a course that treats women ministry in the local church with great emphasis on the women efforts in evangelism and soul winning efforts. This course shall motivate female students to Biblical and Christian actions.
